I have been outside for the past few days (since it stopped raining every day) and have fallen in love again with the vintage neighborhoods in the Iowa Quad Cities! Green grass and wonderful mature landscaping. You just feel at home walking down the tree lined streets.
As I am drawn in by all that I see, I catch myself thinking about what makes these neighborhoods so different than those being built today. As I have thought about this question for the past few days, I have come up with three things that really stand out:
- Vintage neighborhoods have unique home designs that are not “cookie-cutter.” While there are similar designs each one seems to have its own beauty.
- Vintage neighborhoods have amazing landscaping that adds to the overall beauty and makes walking the neighborhood truly special.
- Vintage neighborhoods seem to be close knit places where neighbors care especially for each other.
I know that there are other places to live in the QCA, but given the choice, I will always choose vintage!
