I had the chance to enjoy the annual 4th of July parade hosted by the city of Bettendorf. It is a very neat small town parade with fire trucks, high school bands, and every kind of float sponsored by local businesses, politicians, and charities.
This parade is a great time for the people of the Quad Cities to have a good time and enjoy spending time together. It is great to celebrate our independence while thanking our service men and women for their efforts in keeping us all free.
There were signs all around the parade route that reminded those there that “freedom isn’t free.” I hope that you enjoyed your independence day celebration and that you took time to remember what it our independence costs.
